If making a Yellowstone campground reservation, give the exact dimensions of your unit and, if needed, ask if any oversized spots are available. RV camping in Yellowstone can become costly; therefore, staying at a free campground helps cut down on costs. Free campsites do not typically have as many features as those that cost money, yet they are delightful for those who love to boondock. Fort Mountain, Victoria Bryant, and Unicoi state parks offer covered platforms where visitors can roll out sleeping bags. The maximum stay permitted at Colter Bay Campground is 14 nights, and the maximum cumulative stay between all park campgrounds is 30 nights.

While Headwaters Campground doesn’t always fill as quickly as some of the other park campgrounds, visitors are still encouraged to plan ahead and book early.
